Anglican Youth Center in partnership with Myanmar Digital Solution is organizing three-month training course on “Introducing Youth to Community Work” from September- november 07.
The aim of this program is to provide high school graduates, college and university students with a course that will encourage them to have self-confidence and know their potentials as agents of change in the communities. This program includes series of educational talks and hands-on experiences on community work through internship program with local community based organizations. The students came from various locations: Taungoo, Hpha, mandalay, Naga, Dawai, Pantanaw, and yangon.

Activities
MDS worked with at-risk-youth 16 to 28 years old in a variety of capacity building program, skill development, educational, recreational and other programs benefits to all the young and adults. The purpose is to involve young and adult in creating safe, caring, healthy and adaptive community of support by sharing responsibility for recognizing, accepting and developing their skills. With this regards, MDS in partnership with Anglican Youth Center and the community members, has organized three-month training course on “Introducing Youth to Community Work” from 5th March to 31st May 2007 in Yangon. The aim of this program is to provide at-risk-youths with a participatory course that will encourage them to have self-confidence and know their potentials as agents of change in the communities. This program includes series of educational talks and hands-on experiences on community work through internship program with local community based organizations. This program was participated by 30 youths from Dawe, Bago, Rachine, Myitkyina, Shan State, Taungoo, Mandalay, Yangon satellite towns.
To help out of school youth earn professional skills and secure employment, MDS also engaged in variety training such as Computer Basic, Desktop Publishing, Photo editing, and basic languages courses. In fact, this program would enhance or create community based alternative training classes- -that engage 16-21 year olds in core professional certificate program and computer literacy classes. It is also expected that they would offer paid work experience and experiential training, life and resiliency skills, community mentors, and cultural and recreational activities.

With the help from local partners and volunteer MDS has been operating the following activities for almost 2 years already.
1. Establishment of Youth Centre
The youth centre in Yangon has been established already. With kind contribution from the local communities and faith based organization, Anglican Youth Centre in Yangon will serve as a safe haven to implement all the activities.
2. Provide life skills lessons
The following life skills training will be giving to total of 40 at-risk-youths and 20 young and adults.

Myanmar Digital Solution, known as MDS, was established in September 2004 by friends who committed to make difference in the community. MDS is recognized as a social enterprise, whose objective is to bridge digital divide by empowering young and adult in the disadvantages community through the use of Information Communication Technology (ICT).

To achieve this vision, its goals are to ensure meaningful participation of young and adults in all levels of Information Communication Technology (ICT), to enhance the ability of grass-roots development workers to gather ideas and information, and to promote continuous learning and sharing through the use of ICT.
